Prima | Hello! I`ve just become my birth chart... and I saw that the Houses and the Zodiac Signs are different I mean my ascendent is Scorpio but the 12 House is Scorpio too. Is this possible? I thought in every House there is only one Zodiac Sign? Or not? I think it depends on the degrees too but Im not sure Thanks |
theFajita | Hi Prima, welcome! I do not know the answer to your questions, but someone here surely will! ------------------ Food is the only art that nourishes! |
proxieme | Welcome Prima!!! I'm new at this, too - but these links may be helpful in answering your question: http://www.astro.com/info/in_house1_e.htm?lang=e http://www.astrocom.com/articles/infospecials/IHSX.pdf (You need Adobe Acrobat installed to read this one.) http://www.elysian.co.uk/astrologyhousesystems.htm Hope these are useful, Corri |
Foxxy | Hello Prima! And Welcome to LindaLand It is possible to have signs overlap houses, and even for two houses to have the same ruler; depending on the house system you use when you make the chart. I am not very familiar with different house systems as I use Placidus (the default at Astro.com) myself. However if you are looking for a house system where signs do not overlap you could try setting Astro.com up to use the equal house system. |
Raines | Not all houses have 30 degrees.(all signs do though) Think of an hourglass with all the houses around it. Because of the shape, some houses take up more room while others take up less. This causes some signs to spill over in to other houses and other signs to be trapped inside a house. I hope I explained that right and good enough. |
Carlo | Unless you use equal house system as Linda Goodman and the ancients used, which makes more sense and (surprise) just happens to be easier. Twelve signs, 30° each = 360°. So, naturally, each house is also 30°, unless you prefer to confuse the issue for yourself and use Placidus or Koch or any other house system besides Equal. K.I.S.S., I always say Bright Blessings, Carlo |
Raines | I suppose I like to be confused. |
